API Gateway provides two types of instances: shared and dedicated instances.
a) Shared instances are suitable for development and testing production environments.
b) Dedicated instances provide guaranteed high performance and strict SLA compliance. These instances are suitable for production environments.
You can use the API Gateway console to schedule APIs to run on shared or dedicated instances at any time, which can meet the needs of various business scenarios.

a) The following table lists the tiered prices in all regions for pay-as-you-go instances.

Billing Examples
For example, if you make 12 million API requests to a shared instance and consume 100 GB of outbound traffic within a month in China(Hong Kong), you need to pay a total of USD 22.5 (the fee for API calls is USD 6.9 (10 × 0.6 + 1 × 0.9 = 6.9), and the traffic fee is USD 15.6 (100 × 0.156 = 15.6)).

Description:
a) Charges are generated for pay-as-you-go instances immediately after the instances are created and started. You can choose to release a pay-as-you-go dedicated instance at any time. You are not charged for released instances.

Billing Examples
a) Pay-as-you-go billing method: For example, a pay-as-you-go dedicated instance of the api.s1.small type is created in Singapore. If you use the instance for 9.5 hours and consume 10 GB of outbound traffic, you need to pay a total of USD 10.47 (the instance fee is USD 9.3 (10 × 0.93 = 9.3), and the traffic fee is USD 1.17 (10 × 0.117 = 1.17)).
b) Subscription billing method: For example, a subscription dedicated instance of the api.s1.small type is created in Singapore. If you use the instance for one month and consume 10 GB of outbound traffic, you need to pay a total of USD 561.17 (the instance fee is USD 560, and the traffic fee is USD 1.17 (1000 × 0.117 = 1.17)).

Outbound Traffic to the Internet
a) The following table lists the traffic costs for pay-as-you-go instances.
b) Billing cycle: billed on a daily basis.
c) Billing time: A bill is issued within one to three hours after the end of the current billing cycle.
d) If your backend service is not in the same region as API Gateway or not hosted on Alibaba Cloud, you are charged for the traffic between API Gateway and the backend service. The billing standards are the same as the preceding table.
Usage Instructions
a) Overdue Alert
The system estimates an amount based on the average amount payable over the last week for API Gateway and checks whether you have sufficient balance for the next seven days. If the account balance is insufficient, the system notifies you by SMS or email.
If you have enabled balance alert, you will receive an SMS or email reminder when the account balance is less than the specified alert threshold.
b) Overdue Payment
If the available balance in your account is less than the bill amount of the previous billing cycle, the payment for API Gateway becomes overdue. You will receive an SMS message or email that reminds you to make a payment to renew the service.
c) Service Suspension
If you have overdue bills, API calls rather than API management operations fail. You will receive SMS or email reminders to pay your overdue bills.
d) Service Restoration
If you recharge your account within six months of the service suspension, the service will be automatically re-activated for use. If you do not recharge your account within six months, Alibaba Cloud reserves the right to clear all your API configuration information.
